Monday-Friday | 10 AM - 12 PM
Visible mending makes each stitch a sign of who you are, where your clothes have been, and where they become unique, carrying a piece of you. In this course, we will explore different techniques for mending and embellishing garments via hand sewing. Students will learn about the Japanese arts of Sashiko and Boro patchwork, as well as embroidery and applique. Each student will be able to try all techniques and work on their own projects. Supplies will be provided, but students are welcome and encouraged to bring their own jeans (or other woven fabric garment) to mend or embellish.

All of our summer workshops are offered in partnership with University of Utah Youth Education and all summer workshop registration is handled directly through their website.
