Urban Art - The Street Art Project: Stencils, Style & Spraypaint

Monday - Friday | 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
Students will work alongside local artist Dave Simon and spend five days digging in deep with aerosol arts, exploring the ins-and-outs of spray paint techniques, murals, and street art. We will draw inspiration from the 'greats' of graffiti and street art - from the early days of 'rogue' artists like Basquiat to today's highly-collected urban art legends like Shepard Fairey and Banksy. Extra lab time will be provided for students to go hands-on with large spray paint mural projects and artworks of their own, as well as to hone in skills in stenciling, sticker or (slap) creations, lettering, and other street art essentials. (Ages 14-17)
